If there is one thing that we can never stop, it is time. Time never stops for us. Whether we're running late, need extra time for a project or extra time for taxes, time doesn't stop for us. Here in Arizona I would love for time just repeat from October through early April but that'll never happen. Summer will come no matter what. Although we are never able to stop time, we also must know that time is precious. That is why it's important not to waste our time. The Bible tells us that we should make the most of our time and make it count for something. It's important to view our time as an investment that will produce a great return in the years to come. How are you investing your time into your family? How about your marriage? If you are not investing time into those relationships, can you really expect a return? In the same manner, if you don't invest time in building up your faith, can you really every expect your faith to be stronger? What are you doing this week to invest time in your family and faith? Are you too busy with stuff? Stuff that keeps you from the important things in your life. Manage and use your time wisely. Invest in your family and faith now and expect a return in the days, months and years to come. God bless.
We recently returned from a spring break trip in which I took the entire family to Texas to visit family and see a couple of the sites. We enjoyed the trip to the family fun park in the Austin area with everyone in the family riding go carts including Rosie! We also went to NASA and got an exclusive behind the scenes look from my brother who works there. Jared, my son, especially loved seeing the huge rockets up close. It had been over a week since our trip and that's when he surprised me. All my kids had already thanked Rosie and I for taking them to Texas for a mini-vacation but as we sat around having lunch, Jared began to say how much he appreciated our trip. He told Rosie and I how grateful he was and that he loved us very much. I was a little taken back by the outpouring of gratitude because it came from no where. Actually, it came from a grateful heart. He had probably been thinking about the trip during the day. I was really moved and all I could do was hug my son and tell him that I loved him very much. I think that's how God, our Father, gets when we display that kind of gratitude to Him. Since Easter is just days away, it's fitting that we should thank God for sending Jesus to die for us on the cross. We could spend the rest of our lives thanking God for just that alone. When we tell God thanks, I think God responds kinda the way I responded to my son. I think God embraces us and continues to demonstrate His love for us every day. Why not take some time today to think about how God has been good to you.
Have you ever been nervous and excited about something new in your life? People respond differently to change. Some people hate it and others embrace it. I guess it depends on what the change is affecting. Well currently in my position as Pastor of Lifeway, I am going through a change. Our whole church is. We are launching into 2 services this coming weekend. The church has grown in every area that it is necessary for us to add a service to make room for the growth. I know that many churches already do this but this is relatively new for us and we are excited. God is doing a new thing at Lifeway and I am excited about it. What about you? Is God wanting to do something new in you? Are you resisting change that God may be wanting to bring in your life? Don't run from it or fight it. Just embrace the new thing God is doing in your life. It's a season of growth and maturity. God bless.
